My desire to pursue a career in medicine was fueled by a fascination with the workings of the human body. In medical school, I became totally immersed in the study of disease, and the diagnosis thereof.
My choice of the discipline of general internal medicine was simply the logical extension of the aforementioned. I have a particular interest in multi-system disease. This developed during my residency at The Mayo Clinic, a quaternary referral center for the world. There, I was part of medical teams presented with complex cases that could not be explained elsewhere. I love figuring out “the puzzle.” To this end, I have, and continue to be, an assiduous reader of the medical literature, and medical review courses.
I am completing my 19th year of private practice. I draw upon this wealth of experience when confronted with the vagaries of complex medical cases.
